The three-day spectacular wouldn’t be complete without the popular Salon Seminars, which allow you to get up close and personal with some of the biggest names in hairdressing. This year Salon International will be bringing Mahogany, Saco and Philip Kingsley to the event.

Miss Muretto: la finalissima
Si sono conclusi con successo i Miss Muretto Day: i giorni che l’organizzazione di Miss Muretto dedica annualmente alla selezione delle giovani bellezze più meritevoli di accedere alle fasi finali della competizione. Quest’anno, diversamente dalle altre edizioni, le venti ragazze prescelte concorreranno tra loro per la corona direttamente durante la serata finale. Questa coronerà la serie di appuntamenti dell’attesissima e tradizionale festa della “Gran Cagnara”, che animerà Alassio dal 1 al 3 agosto.
Il tema rimane quello caro alle origini della manifestazione: auto, moto e film in stile “Fab Fifties”, musica Rock’n’Roll e Rockabilly, insomma un tuffo nei mitici anni ’50 simbolo di gioventù, divertimento estivo e spensieratezza.

Visionary Award for Alternative Hair
the winners in DUBLINO
The Visionary Award Ireland recently celebrated its fifth year, crowning Joanne O’Neill – of Joanne O’Neill Hairdressing, Dunloy, Co. Antrim, as the winner. Fifteen finalists presented their looks in a catwalk show to a sold out audience and a panel of judges, including: Co-Founder of Alternative Hair, Maggie Rizzo; Fashion Editor, Andrea Smith; Sanrizz Creative Director, Robert Kirby; Robert Masciave, and Alternative Hair Italy organizer, Carlo Corradi. Following the Irish Photographic Awards 2013 the Visionary Award Ireland 2013 results were announced, with Joanne taking home the ultimate accolade and runners-up named as Teresa Molloy and Aaron Healy. All three competitors will take part in the International Visionary Award during the 31st Alternative Hair Show in October. Winner Joanne O’Neil explained her model’s look, “I took inspiration from the punk and ethnic elements used by designers on the catwalk. Opulent, decadent and futuristic shapes at Chanel, YSL, Jean Paul Gaultier and Alexander McQueen mixing grungy rebel textures.”
