The Visionary Award Ireland recently celebrated its fifth year, crowning Joanne O’Neill – of Joanne O’Neill Hairdressing, Dunloy, Co. Antrim, as the winner. Fifteen finalists presented their looks in a catwalk show to a sold out audience and a panel of judges, including: Co-Founder of Alternative Hair, Maggie Rizzo; Fashion Editor, Andrea Smith; Sanrizz Creative Director, Robert Kirby; Robert Masciave, and Alternative Hair Italy organizer, Carlo Corradi. Following the Irish Photographic Awards 2013 the Visionary Award Ireland 2013 results were announced, with Joanne taking home the ultimate accolade and runners-up named as Teresa Molloy and Aaron Healy. All three competitors will take part in the International Visionary Award during the 31st Alternative Hair Show in October. Winner Joanne O’Neil explained her model’s look, “I took inspiration from the punk and ethnic elements used by designers on the catwalk. Opulent, decadent and futuristic shapes at Chanel, YSL, Jean Paul Gaultier and Alexander McQueen mixing grungy rebel textures.”
