Esistono luoghi in cui la bellezza si traduce in stati d’animo, dove l’ispirazione nasce spontanea dalla natura. Con la sua nuova Collezione, Davines ci introduce in una foresta magica, popolata da creature che emergono all’improvviso con nuovi colori. Sfumature che si inseriscono armoniche nella infinita varietà di colori naturali comparendo inaspettate come a completare il quadro d’insieme valorizzandolo, e acquistando significati inattesi e inaspettati ad ogni variare di luce.
Uno spettacolo quasi teatrale, che il Direttore Artistico di Davines Angelo Seminara, in collaborazione con Eduardo Paludo (International Colour Creative Ambassador) ha interpretato nella Collezione Woodland, dedicata a una femminilità semplice e raffinata. Un susseguirsi di proposte intimamente legate all’armonia naturale, allo studio di tonalità, movimenti e texture tipici della foresta: i colori delle foglie e della terra, la consistenza delle cortecce, i bagliori della luce che filtra tra i rami spostati dal vento.

Alan d Hairdressing Education are delighted to announce that they have been judged grade 2 (good) by OFSTED after an exhaustive, four day inspection at both the London and Ipswich Academies.
Academies’ Principal Kevin Day said “I’m so pleased with the result we’ve achieved! Our team of educators performed extremely well under the additional pressure that an inspection brings and I’m so proud of them. I’m also particularly happy that we were recognised for our strong supportive element offered to students who struggle with some elements of the course.”
Recent changes to the OFSTED inspection process means that schools and colleges now only receive 2 days’ notice before an inspection takes place. This made the results even more exciting for Directors Alan Hemmings and David Wada along with Director of Education Edward Hemmings, as they appreciate how unnerving the process can be. Whilst toasting the team’s success with a glass of champagne, Alan said “I’m really pleased… I believe these inspections can really demotivate your team when you don’t get the result you’re hoping for. However, at Alan d we have great trainers teaching the next generation of hairdressers and barbers, so I wasn’t worried at all!” (Well, not much anyway!!)

La Unión Europea propone prohibir el secador de cabello de alta potencia como parte de una campaña para ahorrar energía, en un movimiento que también incluye otros productos.
Varias Asociaciones y Federaciones Nacionales de Peluquerías de distintos países han condenado la propuesta de esta prohibición, definiéndola como “ridícula” y “mal concebida” por los planes de la Comisión Europea, a pesar de que está sólo en fase de proyecto.
Podría significar reducir el poder de los secadores de cabello hasta en un 30% con el fin de hacerlos más respetuosos con el medio ambiente, con motores de no más de 1.600 vatios.
Los secadores pueden variar en potencia de 900 hasta 2.300 vatios, temiéndose que si llegara esta ley, muchos de los modelos más potentes utilizados por los salones dejarían de estar disponibles.
Entendidos en la cuestión afirman que los planes podrían ser muy perjudiciales para la industria y que tampoco se reduciría el consumo de energía, ya que, por ejemplo, para realizar simplemente un brushing debería de invertirse más tiempo. Los profesionales, además, quedarían expuestos a un aumento de las lesiones músculo-esqueléticas tales como problemas en el brazo, la muñeca o la espalda, ya que les llevaría más tiempo trabajar con el secador en mano.
Cabe recordar que, en el caso de la energía, básicamente el sector eléctrico y el transporte son responsables del 80% de las emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero, por lo que la mejora de la eficiencia energética se constituye como una de las principales vías para reducir estas emisiones.
El sector profesional de la peluquería es un sector sensible y consciente de que hay que avanzar en la lucha por el respeto del medio ambiente, y está dispuesto a aportar su granito de arena para ello, pero argumentan que “estos cambios son absurdos, podrían ser potencialmente muy perjudiciales para la industria, por no mencionar el hecho de que ni siquiera lograrán su objetivo de reducir el consumo de energía”. También es cierto que existe cierta obsesión generalizada en el sector por adquirir utillaje que anuncia en las cajas potencias muchas veces desorbitadas y poco reales con la potencia del aparato.
En esta ocasión, la Comisión Europea ha decidido volver a examinar los planes antes de tomar una decisión que desean sea justa y equilibrada y que realmente se ciña a la realidad a la que se pretende llegar, que es la de avanzar en herramientas más eficientes. Todo sea por avanzar y mejorar nuestro entorno de vida y de trabajo.

Salón Look Internacional, the Image and Integral Aesthetics Exhibition, organised by IFEMA, will stage its 17th edition from 17 to 19 October at Feria de Madrid. This gathering will once again be the best place to discover the latest trends and innovations in the beauty care, cosmetic surgery, hairdressing, cosmetics, make-up and nail-care sector.
In an innovative move, this edition will be staged for the first time in halls 12, 14 and 14.1 of Feria de Madrid. This means that the commercial area and the venues for the different shows and activities will be in a more compact and accessible setting for trade visitors.
In addition to its commercial activity, the event will offer a packed schedule of parallel activities including the Aesthetics Congress, the 3rd edition of the Course on New Technologies in Aesthetic Medicine, the Nailympics, the make-up championships, the Hair Look Focus and the Academy training programme.

This educational spectacular, which takes place on 19 October at Feria de Madrid, will showcase the creativity and techniques of hairdressers of the calibre of Marcel Montlleó, of Pelsynera, Antonio Calvo and Mikel Luzea.
Madrid, 1st October 2014 – On 19 October at 11:30 AM the first edition of “EFFERVESCENE” an educational hairdressing show directed by Mikel Luzea will be staged as part of Pasarela Hair Look at SALON LOOK INTERNACIONAL, the Hairdressing, Beauty, Cosmetics and Accessories Fair.
“EFFERVESCENE” is a play on words which in English means “effervescent scene” and the aim is to deliver precisely this: an effervescence of ideas, tricks, creativity, techniques, etc. This show will strive every year to bring together the most outstanding leading-edge Spanish hairdressers for an educational extravaganza, where they explain live the techniques used in their latest creations.
This first edition of the show will feature some of the leading lights of the Spanish hairdressing scene, namely Marcel Montlleó, Pelsynera, Antonio Calvo and Mikel Luzea.
“EFFERVESCENE” will be one of the shows at Pasarela Hair Look, Spain’s top hairdressing showcase, which every season brings together leading stylists and brands for a spectacular presentation to professionals of the hottest trends in cuts, techniques and colours.
