Ena Salon – the award-winning, stylish and sustainable hair salon housed in the heart of Holborn, London ¬– has recently upgraded its salon interior with a tapestry-style, hand painted ceiling, inspired by sea life, in the backwash area.
Two years ago, to add a point of difference to the salon décor, Ena Salon commissioned London based artist, Emma Loftstrom, to create a wallpaper design using images from the packaging of the Davines Naturaltech range, the salon’s chosen product partner. Emma created the design for the ceiling in the backwash area to allow clients to see something visually simulating while having their hair washed. The initial design featured hand-painted graphics of woodland animals and proved to be so popular with clients that this month, Ena Salon decided to give it a face-lift to take it into 2015 in style.
Artist Emma Loftstrom was commissioned again, and the new ceiling now showcases a sea life scene, in keeping with the watery element of the backwash area and the salon’s natural feel.
Johnny Othona, Director, Ena Salon and Allilon Education said: “The ceiling is such a huge space, we wanted something that could encapsulate a whole world, so every time you look up, there’s something new to see. Clients tend to sit in the same chair at the backwash and have become very attached to their view of the animals above. Now they have a fresh set of sea life creatures to fall in love with.”
