Nicté-Ha, flower of water (of the Maya word nikte’, in Spanish: sun of water, or nymph or water lily), she was the daughter of the guardian of a sacred cenote in the present Yucatan (Mexico). Her beauty was legendary, causing conflicts and confrontations. In love with a Mayan prince, she was transformed by love into a water lily.
