Alternative Hair President Anthony Mascolo founded the International Visionary Award with a sole purpose that echoes his ethos of finding and celebrating new hairdressing talent.
It has grown over the last few years into an international photographic competition, with over 500 applicants in 2015. The finalists are invited to present a model each during a separate part of the Alternative Hair Show staged at the Royal Albert Hall. Judged by top hairdressers and journalists from across the globe, one winner from each category is announced during the evening.
This year we will continue with the 3 categories: Avant-Garde, Cut & Colour & Mens.
“With the growing success of the Visionary Award, we felt that we needed to broaden the criteria to allow more hairdressers to showcase their work,” says Tony Rizzo, Alternative Hair Founder. There is so much exciting work being done today, we look forward to seeing some new talent from across the globe.”
Alternative Hair is so much more than a charity event, so much more than a hair show, it is about an occasion that is close to the heart of many people within the hairdressing profession, inspiring, enthralling and entertaining; a ‘not to be missed event’ on the hairdressing calendar.
